eco2adapt_Serbia_stakeholder_meeting_29052026

#IMSI held a large stakeholder’s meeting on the Horizon Europe project #eco2adapt for Serbian LL, on 29th of May 2026. At the meeting, several introductory lectures important for informing stakeholders about the topic of the project were held:

 

Dr. Žaklina Marjanović presented the project, Dr. Nikola Šušić presented the Serbian laboratory in nature (LL), Dr. Marko Marinković, executive director of JP Vojvodinašume (Public Enterprice Vojvodinaforests), presented the way of managing lowland pedunculate oak forests in Vojvodina; Dr Milena Tabašević and Nikola Gavrilović from the Institute for Nature Protection of the Republic of Serbia presented protected natural areas in LL, including the experimental site of LL, the Rogot Forest. Dr. Marjanović particularly presented Task 5.3 led by IMSI “The importance of mycorrhizae for preserving the resistance of forests to the effects of climate change”, and @Lana Kukobat presented simulation scenarios obtained by modeling in the LandKlim, as well as the previous modeling results in DORIAN - prediction of ecosystem services of LL in climate change.

After that, the participants took part in a very intensive discussion and gave their opinions on how the alluvial forests of Central Serbia should be managed in order to try to save them from disappearing. In addition to the institutions mentioned above, IMSI had representatives of private forest owners, the Faculty of Forestry, various non-governmental organizations, the Institute of Meteorology, the Institute for the Application of Science in Agriculture, the Institute of Forestry, companies related to forestry, the University of Kragujevac...
