Science-Policy Event on Biodiversity in Brussels Highlights New Research Avenues to Enhance the Resilience of Social-Ecological Forest Systems

On March 17th, 2026, a Science-Policy event entitled "Tree and forest biological diversity : a treasure chest of European global wealth, well-being, resilience and leadership for the future" was held in Brussels. The event, organised by the Horizon projects eco2adapt, FORGENIUS, FRUITDIV and OptFORESTS, brought together researchers, policymakers and stakeholders to discuss the role of genetic, species and ecosystem diversity to enhance forest and tree resilience, as well as the potential of nature-positive actions for safeguarding forest biodiversity.
